Wellbeing
Wellbeing programs
Explicit weekly lessons are taught using the Life Skills Go and Smiling Mind programs so that students are supported in building skills in emotional regulation, resilience, mindfulness and social connection. These programs are supported by ongoing whole-school strategies to create a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment. Wellbeing is embedded into our daily practice.

At our school, student wellbeing and learning support are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that when students feel safe, supported and connected, they are best placed to succeed. We are a proudly inclusive school that values diversity and ensures that every student—regardless of ability, background, or need—can fully participate in school life. This includes tailored adjustments to learning, high potential student support, behaviour support, counselling, and in-class assistance where needed.your child needs support with learning, behaviour, or their social and emotional development, we are committed to working in partnership with families to help every student grow, learn and thrive—both at school and beyond.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting Student Wellbeing Every Day
At our school, supporting each student’s mental, emotional and social wellbeing is a vital part of everyday school life. We believe that when students feel safe, valued and connected, they are empowered to learn and thrive.
We foster a caring and inclusive environment by:
- Building strong relationships – Our teachers and staff take time to get to know each student, creating welcoming classrooms where every child feels seen, heard and supported.
- Providing access to expert support – Students have access to the school counsellor and a range of specialist staff who can assist with wellbeing, behaviour, learning, and social-emotional development.
- Delivering whole-school wellbeing programs – We teach weekly, evidence-based lessons using Life Skills Go and Smiling Mind, which help students develop mindfulness, resilience, empathy, emotional regulation and social skills.
- Supporting transitions – Whether students are new to the school or moving between year levels or into high school, we offer dedicated transition support to help them settle in and build confidence.
- Promoting positive behaviour and respectful relationships – Clear expectations and consistent routines help create a safe and respectful school culture for all.
- Working in partnership with families – We believe wellbeing is a shared responsibility. We value open and ongoing communication with families and work collaboratively to provide timely and tailored support.
We are committed to ensuring every student feels connected, confident and cared for—both inside and outside the classroom.

Learning adjustments such as accessible materials, assistive technologies, or differentiated tasks to meet specific needs
Identifying when support is needed
We use a range of ways to identify when a student may benefit from additional support, including:
- Observations of changes in behaviour, learning or engagement
- Monitoring assessment data and progress over time
- Communication from parents and carers raising concerns or requesting assistance
If you believe your child might benefit from extra help, we encourage you to speak with their classroom teacher or contact us. Together, we can ensure your child feels supported, capable and connected throughout their learning journey.
